NEWS RELEASE

In the three short years that www.broadcastsport.net has been in existence, we have striven to set the pace for others to follow.  First we introduced high school play-by-play sportscasting on the Internet to Elkhart County.  Now, all but one of the broadcast crews in Elkhart County have followed our lead by streaming their broadcasts over the Internet.  We have opened up opportunities for not only our local fans, but out-of-state relatives and out-of-the-country servicemen to follow their favorite high school teams.  Not only do we broadcast our events live, but we also archive each game on the Internet, for listening at the fan's convenience.

Secondly, we are the only Internet sports-related site in Indiana to provide more than lip-service to any other high school sports besides the big three, (Football, Basketball, and Baseball).  We publish schedules and up-to-date results for thirty-eight high schools located in eleven counties throughout north-east and north-central Indiana.

In addition, we utilize a low-power FM transmitter at all of our broadcast sites.  This allows our listeners, at the games to benefit from our sportscasters' research, years of experience and commentary in the stands.  Even at those long-distance away games where the only play-by-play they used to be able to hear was from biased sportscasters speaking from the other team's viewpoint.

And now we have done it again.  www.broadcastsport.net is proud to announce the addition of live and archived video to our Internet Broadcasts.  We began some experimental video broadcasts during the last three weeks of NorthWood High School's incredible run in the State Football Tourney, including their State Championship game.  Even those listeners who have only dial-up Internet access can experience our video, albeit the size is limited to approximately what you might see on a Pocket PC.

Starting with our broadcast of the Mishawaka game against New Prairie on December 20th, we began streaming Video at a much higher band-width.  Now with the explosion of Broadband Internet access, we can provide those viewers with a tremendous viewing opportunity.  Why settle for just listening, when you are unable to experience the game in person.  All seven games of next week's Goshen Holiday Tourney will be available as a Broadband Video and also at Dial-up quality Video, and as always Audio-only broadcasts will still be available.

As we progress, our abilities will increase, and as other local media outlets begin to explore this technology, the local high school sports fans will be the real winners. We can broadcast our Video for Broadband viewers at any school where we are allowed to connect to the Internet through their Local Area Network (LAN).  And Dial-up speed Internet can be produced anywhere that an audio broadcast can be originated.
